Council for Teacher Education Foundation- a leading Professional Organization in India
Council for Teacher Education Foundation(CTEF) Regd No. Nagpur/0000403/2019 and earlier known as Council for Teacher Education (CTE) was established in 1985 in Bhopal . The seed of CTEF which was sown by Founder President Dr. Gulab Chaurasia along with a handful of Stalwarts from the Field of National Education has grown up into a large banyan tree with branches in 23 national and three overseas chapters.
The prime objective of CTEF is to develop competent, resourceful and Skilful Teaching Professionals in all level of Education from Lower Primary to Higher education in general and Teacher Education in particular. CTEF attained international status with establishment of overseas chapters.
With this prime objective , multifarious Teacher development programmes(TDP) are being undertaken by all CTEF chapters throughout the year. The Teacher development activities are mainly organising Workshops on various pertinent areas including Recent educational pedagogy, classroom transactions, joyful and effective learning, explorative, interactive and project based learning. Seminars, conferences, Symposiums, interactive meets with student and Parents community, publication of reading materials, publication of Journals, Newsletter and informative Handbooks for teachers and Students Guidance and Conselling, parental counselling, Teacher training and Teacher exchange programmes (TEP).
The Council for Teacher Education Foundation is a leading professional Organization in India for all teachers, Teacher Educators, Educational Administrators, Educational Policy makers, Research Scholars and Professionals of Educational Management.
Dr. KM Bhandarkar from Nagpur (India)and Prof. Nilima Bhagabati from Guwahati, Assam(India) are leading the large International Organisation since November 9th 2009 respectively as National President and International Secretary General.
Dr. K. Sivadasan Pillai (1935-2007)
The Council for Teacher Education (CTE), Kerala State Centre, was established in 2001 under the able leadership of Dr. K. Sivadasan Pillai, one of the veteran educationists of our country and a close associate of Dr. Gulab Chaurasia, National President of CTE. Dr. Pillai introduced many innovative programmes and conducted campaign among the teacher educators in the state. Mr. T. K. Mathew, Titus II Teachers College Thiruvalla, was nominated as Secretary and entrusted him the task of enrollment of teacher educators. An Executive Board was constituted for the effective organization of CTE activities in the state.
CTE Kerala State Centre was selected as the Best State Centre in the country at the Silver Jubilee National Convention of CTE held at Mohali, Chandigarh in 2010, and was awarded the Rolling Trophy instituted by Dr. Nilima Bhagabati (Assam) and family. Dr. C.P. Sreekantan Nair, Chairman Kerala received the Rolling Trophy from Dr. Rajaneesh Arora, Vice Chancellor Technical University, Jalandhur, Punjab. Dr. M.S. Geetha, General Secretary, Dr. Grace Annie Mathew, Principal, Jameela Beevi College of Teacher Education, Dr. V. M. Sasikumar, National Vice President, (South Zone), and Fr. Dr. Rajan, Associate Professor, St. Joseph’s Training College, Mannanam were present. Dr. D. R. Vij, National President, CTE and Dr. Nilima Bhagabati have also attended the program.
